As much as we Masalamommas love our kids sometimes there’s quite nothing like sneaking away without them. Whether it is a couple’s getaway or babymoon there’s plenty of local oases for Toronto Masalamommas to escape to with their loving partners. Over the next few months Masalamommas will be exploring some of Toronto’s best hotels and boutique accommodations for a getaway without the kids. No matter what type of haven you’re looking for, there’s a spot for the Masalamomma in you!

The Windsor Arms is one of Toronto’s finest Boutique Hotels and Masalamommas looking for old world charm with modern and luxurious touches are sure to love this respite in the trendy Yorkville, Toronto area. The 28-suite hotel can trace its history back to 1927 (though it was closed briefly from 1991 to 1999) and today stands as one of Toronto’s luxe hidden gems. Given that the Toronto International Film Festival has roots in the Windsor Arms, it is no surprise that many a celebrity can often still be spotted here.

As Masalamommas’ travel writer my husband and I recently stayed at the Corner Suite as we escaped for yet another one night babymoon in the city before the arrival of baby no.2. And yes, I did spot a celebrity during my visit!

Attentive and dedicated staff is at your beck and call, including a butler to cater to your every whim. No request is ever out-of-bounds and five-star service is all you will get in this charming hotel. Despite the old world charm, expect to be surrounded by modern luxuries such as Wi-Fi throughout the property, a 24 hour salt water pool (midnight swim with your lover?), full service spa and business centres. The property is constantly upgraded in anticipation of the growing trends and there’s always something fresh in the works to please the discerning clients.

Our suite with a separate living room, bed room and washroom was spacious, lush and comfortable. Complementary Nespresso machines, welcome goodies and a mini bar that catered to a well tutored palate were all easily available in the room. This Masalamomma made good use of the soaker tub and spent the morning relaxing, being inspired and unwinding from all worldly cares. Be sure to check out the various suites available at the Windsor Arms to see which one may be perfect for you. No matter which one you choose expect to be in regal surroundings.

Can you think of a better way to enjoy the company of your beau than with a dignified Twlight or Afternoon tea service in the majestic Purple room or the authentic Russian Red tea room? Pinkies up as you learn about the vast selection of teas (Masala Chai included!) and pair them with the dainty sandwiches, divine scones and decadent treats on offer. Clink to your love with a glass of fine Prosecco!

There’s also the Living Room to hideout at with over 60 craft brews and numerous award winning wines. An extensive menu here caters to everyone, including vegans, vegetarians and pretty much any dietary need you may have. Complimentary breakfast is included which means that this momma didn’t have to lift a finger for chai, eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice to arrive. It’s hard not to relax when everything is taken care for you before you even ask!

For those Masalmommas looking to spend a night blowing away your troubles in a trendy upscale setting the Windsor Arms is guaranteed to get you and your partner in the mood!

Where to next? You’ll have to wait and see…
