Something Naughty and Nice

As Masalamomma’s event reporter I got to spend a morning with a few Toronto fashionistas and JACOB’s Style Expert Cristelle Basmaji, for a peak at the JACOB holiday and gift collection that will be in stores this November. Over coffee and croissants I found out that there’s going to be something for all of us mommas, whether we’ve been naughty or nice!
We got to play with the fun and flirty dresses that are sure to take you from the office to a drink with your girlfriends this holiday season. Let’s not forget the office parties (hopefully everyone will be talking about your fabulous fashion and not your dance moves!) and all those family dinners and gatherings. I found something for each occasion! As you can tell… I was smitten!!
The holiday collection, while staying true to the classic look and the black/white combo JACOB is famous for, also has a bit of colour injected.
Cocktails with girlfriends – A comfy, flirty and colourful dress
As you might recall during their fall launch this was something JACOB is looking to bring out in their lines. The JACOB red is unlike any other, it’s festive yet not fire-engine-in-your-face and the cobalt blues has me weak at my knees. The blue hue looks fabulous against our South Asian skin tones and if you’ve been afraid to try colour, do yourself a favour and just sneak in a cobalt blue anything when you step into the JACOB change rooms!
Lace has come back like an ex-lover, sly yet sexy and as Christelle pulled tops and dresses that would suit many body types my eyes would gaze over the subtle lace details that transformed a boring A-line office dress to a more festive, demure, yet professional outfit. There’s lots of peplum and bonded lace that will have you feeling classy and sexy! Christelle saved the best piece of news to the very end… JACOB is bringing back a few signature lingerie pieces!I told you there was something naughty in the mix!
Office party – A trendy polka dot cobalt blue top paired with a cobalt blue skirt or a purple skirt.
The ever so soft camisoles in white and red paired with some sexy shorts are sure to please the partners in your life! Not to worry, there’s some very plushy (polka dot!!) robes for a quick cover up in case your kids or in-laws come by for a surprise visit!
Family dinner – Fun printed blouse paired with some killer jeans
There’s a lot of options with JACOB’s holiday and gift collection this year and I see them being an easy spot to pick up accessories (scarfs, gloves, belts… the list goes on!) for some of my picky girlfriends and while I’m at it, I might just grab myself a jacket…or two! I couldn’t resist seeking Christelle’s advice and asked her to pull out an outfit for each of the following occasions.
