Renu Jain Chandarana has a love for writing and sharing her ideas with her community. Her education includes an English degree from The University of British Columbia and a postgraduate Applied Arts degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University. Her professional career includes writing, producing and coordinating documentary entertainment television shows in Canada as well as on air and voice over work. She has coordinated over 100 documentary TV shoots. Shows she worked on have aired on CBC, HGTV, Food Network Canada, Discovery Health, Rogers TV, E! Canada and Omni TV. In her spare time she taught fitness dance classes at the gym.
After having two children, Renu decided to take a step back from the time sensitive nature of television production and focus on staying home to raise her daughters. Sitting idle in her spare time isn’t her strong suit so she began freelance writing with Masalamommas.com in 2012. Renu has also re-directed her professional career to focus on communications in the non-profit sector. She sits on the board of a local charity and is their communications coordinator. She is also a partner with a social venture investment firm that helps build up small grassroots charities from the inside out. Her passions include raising her two daughters, volunteering, baking, cake decorating, working out, dancing, travelling, socializing, cooking and eating.
Renu hopes that with her articles, readers can add a little spice to their life!
