At masalamommas, we’re always looking for a great event to share with readers, especially ones that let us bring the kids! We’re proud to support 2016’s Bollywood Monster Mashup this year and their special family day dedicated to parents and kids on July 23.
Bollywood Monster Mashup is orchestrated to please the senses of young and old alike with everything from mouth-watering food vendors to excite the nose and taste buds, a KidZone with both physical and crafty activities, and a world-class music and dance entertainment show! Bollywood Monster Mashup is a festival the whole family can enjoy.
This year they are offering a variety of free make-it-and-take-it arts and crafts activities: elephant masks, kite-making, windsocks, watercolour painting, colouring pages and more during their Bollywood Monster Family Day portion of the festival Saturday, July 23 2-5pm. There are lots of free games and an activity area: hula hoops, bean bag games, free tennis-inspired relay games, free mini-car driving area and for those of you who have kids that love to Bollywood freestyle, there will be free Bollywood dance lessons and free Bollywood fitness sessions!
Bollywood Monster Mashup is the one of the most popular South Asian festivals in Canada and this marks their 6th year. In 2014 the festival grew into a full week and saw an attendance of more than 40,000 people. 2015 attendance was even bigger (we’re waiting on those numbers.)
This year, they will have not two but three Bollywood Headliners for BMM. Celebrities Bishakh Jyoti and Sanchari Bose will lead the Bollywood celebrities mania during our Bollywood Monster Concert on Friday, July 22. The festival’s Bollywood Headliner celebrity performs on Saturday, July 23 for our Bollywood Monster Finale. The Finale offers festival-goers a first ever Canadian performance by Bollywood celebrity Aishwarya Nigam. This year, the festival brings the singer of the song “Munni Badnaam Hui” in the hit movie Dabangg, and “Lut Gaye Tere Mohave” in Besharam.
Also new this year, BMM has added a second stage filled with performances throughout the day and night, including a special guest performance involving the Mississauga Pops. In this never-seen-before act, Bollywood Monster Orchestra: Symphony Nights, created by Artistic Director Vikas Kohli, a 55 piece orchestra performs Bollywood classics with a symphonic twist.
So join your fellow masalamommas at this festival for Family day, July 23, to launch your summer of family fun.
