Welcome to a ‘Sketchy Desi’!

Over the years, Soni has made a career testing and writing recipes for notable local companies and cookbook authors, such as the James Beard Foundation, The Creative Kitchen, Agata & Valentina, and Red Rabbit. She developed and wrote all the recipes for Tory Johnson’s New York Times bestseller “The Shift” and has styled food segments for ABC’s “The View”. She has served as Cook Editor for the Daily Meal and served as a small party caterer for The Culinistas.

When Soni isn’t testing a new recipe for a client or eating her way through the city, she writes about Indian food, which can be found weekly on India.com.

In fact, it is Soni’s passion for Indian food and her penchant for finding contemporary spins on the cuisine that brought her to Masala Mommas, where she’ll be developing and sharing quick and colorful recipes for the modern Mom craving that masala life!
