Designers have been pushing the envelope with Saree styling in the last couple of years. 2014 saw the runway filled with a number of new ways to wear the century old piece of clothing. Scroll down to see the few which caught my fancy:

The blouse over the sari. This might not be for all body types, but if you have a slim figure or a long torso you could totally rock this look. Don’t forget to own it!

This is my personal favorite and can be easily recreated with a linen jacket from your own (or your husband/brother’s) closet. I can totally picture this as an early spring look.

Styling the saree with a belt has been around for several fashion weeks now. Not surprising, because it is the easiest way to add an edge to the look. You can pick a belt in a contracting color to the saree or a leather one (like in the picture) and you are good to go.

This is such a fun, quirky and spring ready way to wear the sari. No more hassle of managing the ‘pallu’. It is all tucked in and stylish at the same time.
via Manish Arora
This is the easiest trick in the book but what makes it different would be styling it with a bright and/or printed jacket just like how Manish Arora did. There is nothing subtle about this look and that is indeed the aim!
How would you be styling your Saree in 2015?
