$1 from every purchase will be donated to a different Indian nonprofit per week
eBay is helping Indians in the U.S. bring the best of India home this holiday season. eBay Handcrafted in India makes it simple for Indian Americans to celebrate the holidays with an exclusive selection of handcrafted products from Indian entrepreneurs through its microsite at www.ebay.com/handcraftedinindia.
eBay’s Handcrafted in India holiday campaign will offer a selection of over 52,000 unique products from 250 Indian sellers to help Indians living in the U.S. celebrate the holidays. Products include ethnic wear for men and women, jewelry, home furnishings, Bollywood entertainment, religious and spiritual items, health and beauty, musical instruments, sporting goods, auto, Indian art and collectibles. 
In the spirit of the holiday giving season, and building on the success of a similar program launched during the Handcrafted in India Diwali campaign, eBay will donate $1 for every purchase made to one of three Indian non-profit organizations:
Aseema, a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to providing underprivileged children with a fostering educational environment; Literacy India, a non-profit organization focusing on empowering disadvantaged children and women through education; and Jan Swa Shakti Samiti, a women’s welfare NGO that cultivates livelihood skills among women. One non-profit will be featured per week on the Holiday microsite.
eBay Handcrafted in India makes holiday shopping for loved ones easy. Not only will the microsite allow buyers to shop for all their holiday needs conveniently from their home or mobile devices, holiday purchases are guaranteed to be delivered to customers within seven days of purchase. Current eBay customers will be able to utilize their existing accounts, and any new users may register on the microsite for free.
Like all eBay purchases, purchases made on eBay Handcrafted in India will be backed by eBay Buyer Protection. Customers will also be able to pay securely with PayPal, which allows payments to be sent online quickly and safely using their credit card or bank account.
“We’re thrilled to offer our customers in the U.S. with the opportunity to purchase items for the holidays, directly from India,” said Deepa Thomas, Head of Partnerships for eBay India. “Whether people are looking for unique cultural gifts for others, or something special for themselves, eBay’s Handcrafted in India holiday selection will offer something for everyone.”
During eBay’s Diwali campaign, $1 for every purchase was donated to the National Rural and Development Association (NARAD) a nonprofit that supports rural welfare in India. Because of the overwhelming customer response and positive feedback, eBay will be expanding this program for the holiday season.
During the eBay Handcrafted in India holiday campaign from Nov. 16 to Dec. 14, eBay will donate $1 for every purchase made through the microsite to one of three different non-profit organizations each week.
“eBay India provides a charity fundraising platform to over 70 nonprofits in India. Not only do some of these non-governmental organizations raise funds by putting their products for sale on eBay, we also help increase awareness for their causes,” said Thomas. “Our Diwali partnership with NARAD was extremely popular with our customers, and in the spirit of the holidays, we’re proud to expand this program to include three other deserving organizations during this campaign.
